Centre for Palliative Care

The Centre for Palliative Care (the Centre) was established in 1996 to increase the quality of palliative care being provided to the community through research and education.

The Centre is a department of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and a Collaborative Centre of The University of Melbourne. These strategic clinical and education relationships ensure we are well positioned to undertake essential research and provide a range of quality palliative care education options to health practitioners.

The Centre plays a key role in developing and delivering training and education programs for health services and health professionals from a variety of disciplines.

Its extensive program of research activities is funded through a combination of Victorian and Australian Government agencies, other funding bodies, and generous donations from the community.
