The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH)

The Royal Melbourne Hospital and the North Western Mental Health Service are a part of Melbourne Health. The Royal Melbourne Hospital was Melbourne’s first hospital and provides outstanding care and treatment, improving the outcomes for all through a comprehensive medical research program, and the training of future health professionals.

It is one of the largest hospitals in Victoria providing care across two key campuses, both within the Precinct. The City campus provides general, as well as specialist, medical and surgical acute services. Sub-acute services, including rehabilitation and aged care, outpatient. and community programs are provided from the Royal Park campus.

It also plays a key role within the broader Victorian health sector as a major Victorian referral service for specialist and complex care, being a designated statewide provider for services including trauma.
